Flyover Requests |
 |
Anyone can request a Kentucky National Guard Army or Air flyover for their particular event. If you are requesting an "Army" flyover, you will likely receive a UH-60 Blackhawk flyover. If you request an "Air" flyover, you may receive a C-130 Hercules flyover.
Requesting a flyover is essentially a two-step process. First, you must get approval from the National Guard Bureau (NGB) utilizing a DD form 2535 to have the flyover. Second, you must request the flyover from either Kentucky Army National Guard Flight Operations (502) 607-6006 or Kentucky Air National Guard Flight Operations (502) 413-4581. Flight Operations (Army or Air) cannot perform the flyover until NGB has approved the request. However, coordination can be done concurrently while the request is pending. Once your request is approved by NGB, you are "eligible" to have the military participate in your event, but it's not guaranteed.

Both the above website as well as the pdf will walk you through exactly how to request a flyover.

Request for Static Display |
 |
A static display is a "Request for Armed Forces Participation in a Public Event," DD form 2536.
Static Displays can include Tanks and Humvee's as well as Helicopters. If you are requesting an aircraft be displayed on the ground at your event, that is a "static display". If you would like to request a static display, please call your local Kentucky National Guard recruiter.
In order to request a static display, you must submit a DD form 2536 to 1st Lt. Stephen Martin (Stephen.d.martin1@us.army.mil) at the Kentucky National Guard Public Affairs Office. You can also fax the DD 2536 to (502) 607-1468. The Kentucky National Guard Public Affairs Office retains approval rights for all static displays. Your local recruiter can assist you with submitting the DD 2536.
